The narrative of the song is that someone close to Christina has passed away and she has now realised that she was so self-involved and worried about her own life that she hardly spent time with her loved ones . A flashback of the younger Aguilera shows her being very close with father and now she has lost the closest thing to her.The lyrics tell us that she is apologising for ignoring her father and admits she should have spent more time with him.
